While I have seen several products and apps that monitor calorie burning activity by counting steps and the distance walked I have never seen anything that helps with posture. This device sends vibrations from a sensor that reminds you to stand or sit with your back straight. Lumo Lift uses an app and syncs wirelessly with many Bluetooth equipped iOS and Android devises. It will also work with Windows Desktop.
The sensor is small and can be easily hidden under clothing. It is placed directly below the collar bone. It uses angle displacement as a measure to tell if you are slouching below your calibrated best posture. It will also let you know if you need to get up and move more, encouraging you to burn more calories. You can even keep track of your progress with the Lumo Lift app.
There are a few things about this product to keep in mind. It takes a while to get used to it and learn how to use it correctly. If you stick with it it can be a real aid in improving your health and the way you feel. It is not waterproof, according to it’s makers it is fine to use with a light sweat but it should not be used if you are going to be dripping sweat. The devise comes with a charger and needs to be charged about every five days.
The innovators behind the Lumo Lift startup are Monisha Parkash, Charles Wang and Andrew Chang.
